Every single person on this earth has the same amount of time during the day. We all have 24 hours, it is how you use that time that determines what you can accomplish. Choosing how to use your time is based upon priorities, the most important tasks should have the highest priority and take the necessary time to complete them. However the perception of what actually is “the most important tasks” is based on the individual’s beliefs and goals. The mantra that I live by is that I do not say “I don’t have enough time” I say “I do not make that a priority” and I say this out loud to other and to myself at decision points.
Try that out! Next time you want to answer with “I don’t have enough time”, instead say “I do not make that a priority” and see how it feels to say it like that. Did it make you uncomfortable? Did it make you question if you should really be spending your time doing something else? It may help you rethink how you use life’s most valuable resource of time.
